Happy New Year, Mama! Now let’s start this new year off right and get organized.
Listen, I am obsessed with planners, to-do lists, and notepads. I have to talk myself down each time I walk into Target or TJ Maxx, (heck, any store for that matter) to not buy a handful of planners. With that being said, my favorite part of the new year is choosing the best life planners to help keep me organized all year.
Recently, I edited down my planners and how I use them. To be clear, I still use digital calendars to do some very detailed scheduling (and reminding) for important appointments, meetings, school/sporting events & date nights. Apple calendar is my jam. But, there is something about a physical planner that provides me so much joy. Actually writing things down is so important!
According to a Forbes article published in 2018, committing your goals and plans to paper has been proven to increase the likelihood that you will actually achieve them. This is in large part due to a neurological response that occurs on two levels: external storage and encoding. In short, when you write down everything you want to accomplish, it has a much greater chance of being remembered and carried out! So get to writing, sista! 🙂
“People who very vividly describe or picture their goals are anywhere from 1.2 to 1.4 times more likely to successfully accomplish their goals.” –MARK MURPHY
In my current season of life I use a planner for day to day life, content planning, and work. While 3 planners might see a bit excessive for some, this method has really helped me get more serious about being organized. I carve out 1-2 hours the month prior to write down each task, appointment, or event. I then look at the planners daily and revise on the weekends if need be. This ensures I’m setup for success. I linked some of the best 2022 life planners and notepads below so you can put pen to paper. Happy planning!
