Cheers To My Breasts! Celebrating National Breastfeeding Awareness Month

August 7, 2020 · In: Motherhood

Did you know that August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month? I sure didn’t until after I gave birth to Harper in September.

When I had Landon 12 years ago, I had no interest in breastfeeding since I had to return to work just a few weeks after giving birth. This time around, I wanted to attempt breastfeeding, and so I put in the time before Harper was born to educate myself and attend a few breastfeeding classes. Thank God I did, because I was not set up for success in the hospital after my c-section. While Harper latched naturally, nursing was painful and I could not get the hang of it. After much frustration, I found the BEST lactation consultant who helped troubleshoot. She truly saved our breastfeeding journey!

Now Harper and I have the best breastfeeding groove, and I couldn’t be more proud. If you follow me on Instagram, you can read my thoughts on how my decision to breastfeed has really been a family affair.

Sending you mamas so much LOVE and SUPPORT. You were meant for this! Whether you breastfeed or bottle feed your baby needs you. When your baby looks at you all they see is love…which is everything they need.

xx,

C.

My husband captured this amazing photo of Harper and I. it has easily become one of my favorites.
